eSports has been increasing in popularity with each passing day. 2015 proved to be a good year for competitive gaming. The number of viewers hit all-time records, the investments went up and prize pools went sky-high. International 5 was the largest prize pool with winnings amounting to $18,429,613, followed by Frankfurt Major and Dota Asia Championship with prize money of $3 Million. They managed to secure second positions in other events too. Interestingly, it wouldn’t have been among the Top 10 if it wasn’t for their amazing run at The International 5. Another interesting fact about them is that till 2014 this team was a part of LGD Gaming. The 2nd position holder, CDEC Gaming, earned a total of $3,229,600.78.

Topping the prize winning charts is Evil Geniuses with $8,952,675.05 in winnings. Considering the statistics, their victory in The International 5 would have been enough for them to achieve the first place with a whopping $6,634,661 won from the event. The Evil Geniuses continued their winning ways and stood 1st in Dota Asia Championship as well where they won $1,284,158. Other high profile Dota events landed EG at their current spot where their team mostly dominated others.
