Team Envy as one of the biggest US-based esports organizations has opened its doors back in 2007. The team used to be known for their amazing professional competitive Call of Duty history, while today, they are mostly known for their amazing Overwatch roster. As other prominent teams in the industry, Team Envy has several sponsors behind their back including NZXT, DXRacer, Zowie, Monster Energy, HyperX and ScufGaming among the others.

Team Envy also has an amazing Counter Strike Global Offensive roster as well known as the Boys in Blue. Back in 2015, the squad of LDLC including Richard shox Papillon, Fabien kioShiMa Fiey, Eduardo SmithZz Duboardeaux, Nathan NBK Schmitt and Vincent Happy Cervoni decided to join Team EnVyUs which at the time was best known for their Call of Duty team.

Going Strong Since 2015

After the team’s amazing performance at the MLG X-Games Aspen tournaments, the team went further proving that they were definitely among the very best teams in the world behind Fnatic which is usually regarded as the best Counter-Strike Global Offensive team in history according to world ranking. After their initial success at the MLG X-Games Aspen, the team also participated in the prominent Inferno Online Pantamera Challenge where they finished as third-placed after being defeated by Fnatic in the final.

Only one month later, the team participated in the Counter-Strike Global Offensive ESL One Katowice 2015 Major. After finishing the group stage as the first-placed in their group, the team confronted Natus Vincere later on in the quarterfinals ultimately winning the series. Further, they defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas but lost to Get RiGht which led them to lose the competition’s Bo3 series by 2-0. Despite the team lost in the semifinals, they left Poland as fourth-placed.

Preparing For the Upcoming Season

After the team’s initial success at ESL One Katowice 2015, Team Envy had found their form later on which led them to win titles at the StarLadder StarSeries XII Lan Grand Final and Gfinity Spring Master. In both of these tournaments, Team Envy defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas in best of five series by winning 3-1 and 3-0. Later on at StarSeries, Team Envy proved that they were among the best-performing teams.

Following their preparations for the upcoming season, this Dallas-based organization has raised an amazing $20 million investment. While the identity of new Team Envy investors has not been revealed, they are described as both national and local investors. This latest report on raising investments for Team Envy followed the company’s $35 million investment received from the Hersh family back in 2017.

It should be noted that this investment from the Hersh family is the largest in the world of esports. Team Envy is currently competing in nine different games including the Overwatch League, Counter Strike Global Offensive and Call of Duty. This Team Envy investment is the very first big investment of the new year following prominent investments made in 2018 such as 100 Thieves receiving $25 million, Team Vitality receiving $20 million and Cloud9 receiving $50 million. From what we can tell, it appears that the CS:GO competitive scene is only getting stronger by the day, with major sponsors not shying away from throwing the big bucks at the top teams.
