At the start of this week, Hearthstone eSports scene has been involved in the Hearthstone Global Games that have started recently. At the same time, other important news came as a big surprise.
The news was announced by Red Bull Media House. In their press statement, they have announced the second season of Team Brawl: Hearthstone. It is a unique eSports tournament, which proved to be a very successful move last year. Hence, Red Bull Media House has decided to launch the second season of that competition. As the name of the tournament suggests, this will be Blizzard’s Hearthstone competition, and it will be played in Santa Monica, in Red Bull’s eSports studio.
Three Events Coming Up in 2017
The press release from Red Bull Media House stated that they will be organising three Hearthstone events during 2017. The first of the three Hearthstone competitions takes place on April 15th. The second event will be held on August 5th, and the third and the final competition will be taking place on December 15th. All of these three events will be held in Red Bull’s eSports studio in Santa Monica, California.
As we are all aware, Hearthstone is the game played one on one. However, Team Brawl: Hearthstone will feature different format of the competition. This competition will feature Hearthstone teams comprised of three players where team members will have the opportunity to play the game against the opposing team and assist other members. Each team in this event receive 240 cards in total, and then they’ll have to organise three decks of cards out of that card pool. Each player in the team will receive one deck of cards.
Round Robin Format
The format of the tournament will be the same that was used the previous year. Teams will compete in the Round Robin Team Conquest format. Before the start of the game, each team will pick one of three decks of cards which they will be using in the match against the other team. In the case when a team wins the game, the deck of cards that was used in that game can no longer be used. The winner of the match would be determined by one team winning with each of their decks of cards.
According to the Red Bull Media announcement, some of the teams that will be participating in this event are
- Team Luminosity,
- Team SoloMid,
- Team Dignitas,
- Tempo Storm
…and several others. For those fans who will not be able to attend the tournament in Santa Monica, organisers have enabled the live broadcast the on Red Bull eSports official Twitch account.
Changing an individual sport into a team sport is always a fun experience for all involved, players and fans alike. Because of that, Team Brawl: Hearthstone will probably be one of the most interesting Hearthstone competitions this year. Organisers are promising a lot of fun, great matches, and an amazing experience for all everyone – those who decide to attend the tournament as well as those who will be following this tournament on Twitch.
