Rift Rivals 2017: Everything is lost, is America officially better than Europe?
The League of Legends Rift Rivals 2017 has just ended. The event lasted for a full week and was divided into 5 separate tournaments. Everyone has followed slightly different formats and has been in different locations around the world.
The goliardic tournament in which “it was decreed in an absolute manner” which official league in the region could boast to be the best, has brought several surprises. Among these, the disastrous loss of the EU LCS by hand of the forever American rivals.
Blue Rift – EU vs. NA who is better?
Although it can be described in any other way but serious, the tournament has offered some great matches. The first phase of Europe against the United States had the task of deciding which team had the right to represent its own region.
Pretty much as expected, the veterans of the Team Solo Mid have proven to be above the Americans. Boasting a world-class experience that finds few equal in the world, the team is always able to shine at moments that count. To represent Europeans, instead, were the glittering UOLs. Unicorns of Love have for years been among the first teams in the EU LCS. They boasted some of the world’s most warm and (noisy) fans.
Despite the Ferrari typhus (and the support of the unicorn disguised manager), the team failed to compete against the Americans. Probably due to interruptions by mystical forces, nda. With a score of 3 to 0, Americans get the right to be higher. At least until next year’s event.
Red Rift – KR vs. CN vs. TW/HK/MO
To leave disappointment is LCK’s (League Champions Korea) performance in Asian competition. The Korean League, for years considered the land of the greatest players in the world, returns home with its tail between the legs. After reaching the end of a great career, South Korea teams did not shine and defeated in the final against the Chinese of the LPL (LoL Pro League) for 1 to 3.
Purple Rift – SEA vs. OCE vs. JP
As for the Pacific tournament which was held in Ho Chi Minh City, League of Legends Japan League (LJL) brings home the Purple Rift Rivals 2017 cup defeating the direct opponents in a relay best of 5 (Bo5) series: Oceania and Southeast Asia.
Yellow Rift – LAN vs. LAS vs. BR
The South American tournament has had a fairly good result with the experience gained in the international field by some Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends (CBLoL) teams. The Brazil of Keyd Stars and RED Canids has in fact imposed on the rest of Latin America, winning the Yellow Rift.
Green Rift – CIS/Russia vs. Turkey
Finally, the duel between The League of Legends Continental League (LCL) and Turkish Champions League (TCL). The two of them were Turkey, which brought home the 5th Rift Rivals 2017 trophy thanks to the victory of 1907 Fenerbahçe on the Russian team Vega Squadron for 3-0.
