Three-times League of Legend world champions SK Telecom has made some significant changes to their current rooster as a part of their efforts when it comes to preparing for the following season. In fact, the team is making great changes ahead of 2019 hoping that their new roster will mark their return to League of Legends dynasty.
Without any doubt, this South Korean team is one of the best professional teams. The team used to be sponsored by two different sister teams including S and K. This is the only team which has won the League of Legends World Championship three times so this is the only team to hold an amazing Triple Crown. Two years ago, SK Telecom 1 also has become the ultimate champions of three major events including the Mid-Season Invitational, IEM, and Worlds.
Despite the fact that these amazing accomplishments were not achieved during the same season, this South Korean LoL reigning king was the very first team to defend their biggest title, their World title. Since its establishment as a team, SK Telecom T1 is sponsored by SK Telecom, New Balance, KLevv Memory, Razer, Corsair, and Pocari Sweat.
The SK Telecom T1 Road to Success
Back in December of 2012, the team acquired their new roster consisting of StarLast, UandME, MighTiLy, HOTO, Reapered and Eat Sleep Game. The next year, the team went on creating a new roster consisting of Impact, PoohManDu, Piglet, bengi, and Faker. With this team, SK Telecom T1 became the ultimate winner of the League of Legends World Championship Season 3. This same season, SK Telecom T1 become the very first team to mark a perfect season without losing a single match during their Champions Winter gaming journey of season 2013-2014.
Back in 2014, the team competed in League of Legends Masters setting an amazing record of 6-0 during the round robin, ultimately scoring a 14-4 gaming record. SK Telecom T1 competed in the Grand Finals but was defeated by their opponent Samsung. Not long after, the team won another prominent event, All-Star Paris 2014, without losing a single match. Then, two years later, the team won League of Legend World Championship, once again proving their impeccable status.
The New SK Telecom T1 Rooster Set to Succeed?
After winning three consecutive League of Legend Finals, the team was defeated by Samsung Galaxy which was later renamed into Gen.G. The most successful SK Telecom T1 rooster including its core players Bang, Faker, Bengi, and Wolf deteriorated while only Faker remained on the team. In addition to Faker, the current SK Telecom T1 rooster also includes the substitute duo including Lee Effort Sang-ho and Han Leo Gyeo-re.
However, the team’s new roster of nine-man is definitely hailed as one of the biggest teams around even though they are yet to play together. This new top SK Telecom T1 rooster includes Crazy, Khan, Haru, Clid, Faker, Teddy, Leo as well as supporting member Mata and Effort. Looking on paper, this new SK Telecom T1 roster can definitely bring the team back on top and continue their LoL dynasty which is the only dynasty League of Legend has ever had and very possibly will have. Now, we only have to wait for them to play and see how they perform in the virtual arena.
