One of the most dominant automotive companies in the world is entering the world of eSports. Kia Motors recently has announced its very first test drives in the industry coming as the official sponsor of the League of Legends European Championship. The Championship was previously known as EULCS or European League of Legends Championship Series. Today, we know it as the League of Legends European Championship with is the most prominent League of Legends tournament within Europe.
As a part of this latest sponsorship deal between Kia Motors and League of Legends European Championship, the automotive company will create exciting digital content for the upcoming season as well as act as a prominent presence at different League of Legends European Championship events held across Europe. What we are about to see is an interesting video series developed with Fnatic, which is the Summer 2018 winner.
Interesting Video Series Coming Soon
The series will debut on 1st February on both Dexerto and DBLTAP. Kia Motors has also released another short movie named Ready to Play which features some of the most prominent eSports personalities and casters such as Indiana Froskurinn Black Trevor Quickshot Henry. In their latest statement regarding the company entering the world of eSports, Kia Motors Senior Vice President, Yong-Won Cho said that this sponsorship will actually demonstrate how the company supports the lifestyle of younger digital native generations.
The company’s inaugural short movie featuring well-known League of Legends celebrities means the beginning of an exciting Kia Motors era in the world of eSports. Following this statement by Kia Motors Senior Vice President, DBLTAP director Mike Murphy O’Reilly said that the company is very excited to work alongside Kia Motors in favor of helping them activate their latest sponsorship deal.
He also added that the company will use their experience of working alongside non-endemic brands in order to connect Kia Motors with the amazing Europe-based League of Legends fanbase. He also added that the company is very excited to work alongside Fnatic in favor of boosting their sponsorship campaign with their partner Dexerto.
Kia Motors Sponsoring Traditional Sports
Prior to this sponsorship deal with the LEC, Kia Motors is known for sponsoring traditional sports events and competitions including the 2019 Australian Open and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. After sponsoring different clubs as well as different sporting events, the company decided to make its first foray into this industry by sponsoring the LEC 2019.
It should be noted that the beginning of the League of Legends season marked other big sponsorship deal including Alienware sponsoring some of League of Legends events. This means that both LEC and LCS will be sponsored by Alienware for several years from now as their multi-year contract states. It also should be noted that Riot Games recently entered another multi-year sponsorship deal with one of the most prominent PC brands, Dell. This particular deal includes sponsorships of the World Championship, all of the All-Stars events, North American versus Europe Rift Rivals events, League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational events as well as both LEC and LCS.
