Immortals are one of the teams that will be competing in the Overwatch League that will be stating on January 10, 2018. Blizzard has announced that those teams will have to complete their rosters before October 23 as it has been announced that full rosters of all teams will be revealed on October 24, 2017. Because of that, many of those teams have already started to figure out which players are the best for their team and which players will be leaving the team. Immortals are also one of those teams.
All teams that purchased a spot in the Overwatch League have invested a lot into this endeavor and because of that, they all want to make sure that they are doing their best to find the team that will be a serious contender for the title in the competition.
Hyped to leave the Team
Immortals’ Flex tank player, George ‘Hyped’ Maganzini became the first player from Immortals’ team to be dropped by the organization in preparations for Overwatch League. Hyped joined Immortals at the start of 2016 and his departure from the team was announced just a couple of days ago. General Manager of Immortals, Nick Phan said in a statement that Hyped has been a very important player for the team during his time in the team.
However, his style of play or rather his set of skills does not fit with the plans that the team has set forth for the Overwatch League. Because of that, he will be looking for the team that will provide him the opportunity to play in the League. Nick Phan has also said that the entire organization is very thankful for what Hyped has done for the team and that they wish him all the best in his future endeavors in the competitions.
So far, Immortals have not announced the name of the player that will be replacing Hyped in the team. Some believe that they will not be doing that until October 24 when they will be announcing their entire roster.
In just a couple of days after the announcement of Hyped departure, several reports indicated that there are several players who might be replacing him in Immortals. One of those players is Benjamin ‘uNKOE’ Chevasson who previously played for Rogue. However, since Rogue announced their exit from Overwatch competition, uNKOE has become a free agent and he is available for signing. Over the last year, uNKOE proved to be a very talented player who managed to win many titles with his former team.
The second player that might be joining Immortals is Terence ‘SoOn’ Tarlier who also played for Rogue before the shutdown of the entire team. However, both of those players have never played in the tank position and that might be a problem for Immortals. Despite only one player leaving the team so far, reports indicate that both uNKOE and SoOn might be joining Immortals. That indicates that there is at least another player from Immortals that will be leaving the team in the upcoming period.
