Even though it is clear to everyone that Heroic is currently one of the world’s best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams and that they are one of the biggest favorites for the win in almost all tournaments in which they participate, they still have certain problems in the organization like any other organization in the world of eSports. Not that long ago, one of the biggest shock this year came when it comes to CS:GO tournaments. The squad failed to qualify for the European Minor tournament. Because of the fact that ESL One: Cologne 2017 is getting close very fast, Heroic decided to make a roster change in the team in order to perform as best possible at the Cologne 2017 that will be held very soon.

In the qualifiers for the European Minor, Heroic failed the qualifiers for the tournament in the ninth place. It was one of the biggest surprises for their fans this season. As a result team’s officials decided that they would be making the change in the lineup of the team. Then one of the founding members of the Heroic team, Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså has been benched in the team. Probably due to his bad performances recently. Instead, Casper ‘cadiaN’ Moller will be stepping in as a replacement player. And then the team will decide what to do with the empty position in the team.

Casper ‘cadiaN’ Moller

When it comes to Casper ‘cadiaN’ Moller, he did not have a permanent team in the last couple of months. He was a substitute player for different teams. Most recently, cadiaN was playing together with Epsilon CS:GO team from Sweden as a substitute player. Though it turned out that he would be leaving Epsilon to join Heroic. However, whether or not he has the chances for staying in the squad permanently will not be clear after the qualifying rounds for ESL One: Cologne 2017 where team Heroic is currently playing.

The decision to bench one of the founding members of team Heroic seems to have come from the team’s coach, Henrik ‘FeTiSh’ Christensen. Valde’s game in their most recent matches obviously didn’t impress or satisfy him. Henrik ‘FeTiSh’ Christensen was the first to announce that valde was out of the game in the team. He also confirmed him not playing with the team during the qualifications for the ESL One: Cologne 2017.

In the qualifiers for the European Minor, Heroic was defeated by Outlaws, Fnatic Academy and iGame.com which was more than surprising as Heroic has been improving during the entire last year and the first couple of months of this season. Even with many finishes in the top four teams in many tournaments, they were still not able to defeat teams that are obviously much weaker teams than Heroic. However, with all that happening, Heroic will have to turn their attention to the ESL One: Cologne 2017 in order to secure their spot at the main event. Otherwise, this season would be huge failure and disappointment for Heroic Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team.
