Royal Never Give Up is one of the most prominent Asian eSports organizations whose League of Legends team has been competing in the League of Legend Pro League since 2015. It should be noted that this League of Legends team is the ultimate winner of the 2018 and 2016 LPL Spring Split. Moreover, the team is also the champion of Mid-Season Invitational 2018.

Royal Never Give Up is the sister team of another prominent team in the industry, Star Horn Royal Club. In addition to having their League of Legends team, the club also has teams competing in Overwatch League taking part in the Chengdu Hunters. The team has many different sponsors for their League of Legends competitions which have been there since the creation of the team. Some of these sponsors include HP, Logitech G, KFC, LYNX and Douyu TV.

Royal Never Give Up Road to Success

Soon after placing first at NESO 2015 competition, Royal Never Give Up finalized its ten-player roster by adding King, SHRC, NaMei, Sask, and InSec. The team also added two starters who used to play for Samsung Galaxy to their roster. With this roster, the team has definitely impressed early on in their LPL play as they have managed to win consecutive series by defeating both Edward Gaming and Vici Gaming.

Thanks to their amazing performance, the team has earned their spot at the IEM Season X World Championship which took place in Katowice. This competition was the very first international tournament for Royal Never Give Up. Here, they have managed to win their group by defeating Ever and Origen, but they have lost to Fnatic mainly due to very poor Rekkles’ performance.

It should be noted that the team gave some playing time to their other members following their IEM Katowice performance including InSec. The team, later on, proceeded to offer more impressive matches at MSI when they have gone undefeated for the initial three days of their group stage matches. They have defeated SuperMassive eSports, Flash Wolves, Counter Logic Gaming and G2 Esports. Further on, Royal Never Give Up defeated favorites SK Telecom T1.

Unfortunately for the team, SK Telecom T1 soon later recovered and Royal Never Give Up lost by 3-1 in the competition’s semifinals. When it comes to their following tournament results, the team played second at the Summer LPL, third at the Mid-Season Invitational 2016, first at the Spring LPL 2016, first at the Mid-Season Invitational 2018, first at the LPL Summer Playoffs 2018 and finally fifth to eight at the World Championships 2018.

Choi, DanDy and In-kyu Joining the Team as the New Season Starts

The team recently revealed that DanDy has been assigned as the head coach of the team. It should be noted that this will be the very first DayDy’s coaching gig after finishing his career as a professional League of Legends player. After more than six years of competing, DanDy joins GreenTea who is the team’s coach as well.

These events took place after it was revealed that the current Royal Never Give Up coach Kezman has been dealing with some health issues due to which he has to step from this position as soon as the new season starts. Since DanDy is one of those greatly accomplished League of Legends players with a lot of experience, it will be interesting to see what his new team can offer in the upcoming season.
