The 2017 CSGO BLAST Pro Series will be held on November 24-25, 2017 at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen. With $250,000 up for grabs among six teams, this will be one of the most exciting events of the year as it entails some of the most prominent teams in the CSGO field.
But as the newest betting odds for who will win the event show, the competition is anyone’s game. Astralis and SK Gaming both hold the lead with +300 lines.
Astralis is a Danish team that has held the same roster for close to an entire calendar year. The team won the ELEAGUE Major 2017 in January, taking home $500,000. The side also won the Intel Extreme Masters XI event in March. Astralis continues to be active in CSGO competition although that Intel Extreme Masters win was the last first place finish the team has had.
The CSGO segment of the SK Gaming behemoth continues to be influential and prominent. The Brazilian team has been growing in power as it is getting back to CSGO competition. The side won the ESL One Cologne event in July, earning $100,000 for the team’s efforts. This all comes after more than a decade away from the Counter-Strike field. The team has only been competing in CSGO events since July 2016 but they have already won five events.
FaZE has a +350 line to win the event. The team has remained active in the esports field and has been contending in CSGO events in recent time. The team has actually contended with SK Gaming in a few CSGO events and has lost to that side three times in recent history. These include two second-place finishes in events from early in the year including the Intel Extreme Masters XII event in May of this year.
G2 Esports and North both hold +600 lines. North is one of the newer teams in the CSGO field but it has gotten around in recent time, having won the DreamHack Montreal event just recently.
Ninjas in Pyjamas is at the bottom with a +800 line. The team did win the DreamHack Valencia major in July and has been on a winning stream in the team’s return to Counter-Strike events. The team has earned a little less than half a million dollars in the last year of competition in CSGO events.
The CSGO Blast event is expected to be a popular tournament as it focuses on the best CSGO teams in the world. All six teams in the competition were invited to the competition based on their recent histories and activities in the game.
The teams will also contend in a series of round robin events. These will lead to two pro standoffs and one grand final. The winners of the pro standoffs will get $10,000 each while the winning team in the entire competition will earn $125,000.
The event is being ruled as a Major tournament. Seven different maps will be used including the Cache, Inferno, Mirage and Overpass maps. The weapons for use are expected to be standard models.
