Major Counter-Strike competition ELEAGUE Premier 2017 has brought together some of the leading Counter-Strike teams and esports organizations together. We have witnessed ELEAGUE group stage in the most common format GSL. These days we are looking forward to seeing another exciting stage of the competition, single-elimination playoffs. The competition has brought amazingly skilled teams all fighting for that prize pool of $1,000,000 USD that will be spread among the leading teams. The group stage is finally over, so we know all teams that will be competing in the playoffs.
The competition will end on 13th October when we will see the winner being crowned while heading home with the cash in their pockets. Yesterday we informed you about the favorites of the competition including amazing teams Fnatic, Team WE, and Cloud9. Today we bring two underdog teams that really pulled it off and showed amazing performance while facing their opponents. Two underdog teams that made it through the group stage are Heroic and Astralis. Everyone was truly amazed by these teams since our attention was towards favorite teams, even though teams like Heroic and Astralis have an amazing opportunity as well as skill to seriously threaten some of the leading teams in the industry.
The Danes Heading to Their Forth ELEAGUE Playoff Stage
The winner of that final group in the group stage of ELEAGUE Premier 2017 was decided so there was only a single remaining spot for the following playoff stage. Danish team Atralis was amazing in their group stage competition, so they won their Group D. The team faced and defeated Team Liquid at the beginning of group stage while they were able to defeat team Heroic in the showmatch. The Danes were ahead of one of the favorites Team Liquid since they showed that great Counter-Terrorist side in addition to several amazingly well-executed Terrorist rounds on Overpass map. The team defeated Team Liquid by 16-11 while heading to their next match against Heroic.
The team later faced Heroic playing on Train map. Once again they were able to crush their opponents by 16-2- with a help of the team’s leading player Lukas gla1ve Rossander who was amazingly well doing the greatest damage ending the match with a 24-9 kill death ration. His average damage per round was 120.4, which is more than amazing. The Danish team Astralis are the seventh team who was able to earn their spot in the following stage playoffs, so they joined Team EnVyUs, North, Fnatic, FaZe Clan, Cloud9 and G2 Esports. There was only one spot left in the competition playoff stage which was concluded with teams SK Gaming, Liquid and Heroic fighting for that spot. Therefore, all team that made it through the group stage are revealed and a team of underdogs Heroic was able to survive the group stage and join other team heading together towards the playoff stage.
Team Heroic Deserved the Final Playoff Spot
The last team that most certainly deserved that last spot in ELEAGUE Playoffs stage was definitely team Heroic. An underdog team has shown the greatest performance and has emerged victorious. Team Heroic faced and defeated SK to that lower bracket after defeating them on Train map by 16-5 at their beginning match while fighting for that last remaining Playoffs spot. However, SK came back and eliminated Team Liquid by 2-1. That wasn’t enough since team Heroic once again defeated SK Gaming in the most important match, group decider match. The team was able to finally defeat their opponents by a 16-8 score. The competition will continue on 10th of October when we will see these eight world’s greatest Counter-Strike teams competing for their piece of that amazing $1 million prize pool.
