In the Grand Finals of the ESL Pro League LAN Finals, we have seen Astralis and Team Liquid competing for the title. The team which has definitely dominated the match was team Astralis which had a tough path prior to the match, but was not stopped them from winning this LAN event. The team came strong into this final match while their opponent has a profound experience when it comes to playing against them.
Astralis Vs. Team Liquid on the First Map
The first map chosen during the match was Train. This map was chosen by the winning team. Even though Astralis hoped that Team Liquid is not well prepared for the map, they have proven them wrong. The truth is that both NAF and Elige performed amazingly on Train without any single mistake. Other teammates were also exceptional constantly dominating the map with their aggressive performances.
However, their exceptional performance only helped their team with gaining more confidence which was not enough to put a strain on the equally exceptional performance Astralis has put in. What we have seen on this first map is Team Liquid being slightly better than their opponent as Astralis despite their excellent performance was not able to win those key rounds. In the end, Team Liquid was able to seal the map led by NAF and Elige scoring a great 11-4 victory on Train.
All About Glaive on Mirage
The second map chosen was Mirage and both teams did really amazing. However, the winning team did not have their leading players in which led them to not being able to provide Device AWP positions during the match. Moreover, during the match, his confidence started to fade away getting lower, so no one was surprised to see Astralis taking their chances and playing all the way with the Double AWP without actually handing AWP Device.
What we have seen during this match is Astralis’ confidence adjusting according to the form of the team which is not something seen in other teams. The best players on Mirage was definitely Glaive who has put on an amazing performance bringing more confidence to all of his teammates. On the other hand, Device did poorly on Mirage but thanks to impeccable performances put on by Dupreeh and Glaive, team Astralis was able to find that much-needed firepower.
As the match on Mirage begins, Astralis was somehow lacking power and commitment, but the team eventually recovered and soon later managed an amazing comeback which led them to win the match by 16-11. With this victory, Astralis tied the matches’ series. The third map placed was Inferno during which Astralis performed amazingly.
Astralis Dominant on Inferno
The third map went similarly to the second map chosen by Team Liquid. The halftime score on Inferno was almost even, while during the second half on Inferno, team Astralis has shown their dominance. Without any surprise, it was Astralis’ Xyp9X who has emerged as the team’s top fragger as his amazing ace on the Bombsite brought to confidence and firepower to his team.
In the end, Astralis was more efficient on the map than their opponents while the team finally sealed their victory on Dust 2 where they have continued their momentum from the third map. In fact, the Danes were able to look extremely dominant thanks to impeccable performances of the teammates.
In the end, Astralis won on Dust 2 as well sealing their victory by 16-10. Astralis as the Intel Grand Slam Champion secured an amazing prize of $1,000,000 which in addition to their ESL Pro League LAN Finals prize of $250,000 makes a total of $1,250,000.
