A brand new champion is coming to League of Legends and is expected to be an interesting option for esports teams to look into. This new hero is Zoe, the Aspect of Twilight.
Zoe is listed as a mage and has a charming look to her. She especially produces lots of sparkles, a point that is vital for producing extra magic damage to her opponents. But she is especially designed as an attacking mage with some magic powers included in her arsenal.
She will be included the Public Beta Environment and is expected to be released to the overall game before November ends. Zoe should be available for esports competitions throughout 2018 and beyond.
The abilities that Zoe has to offer are designed to help her damage enemies:
- Paddle Star is an attack that deals magic damage into a local area. It can be cast in mid-flight and will increase in damage depending on the distance it travels in a straight line.
- The Spell Thief power allows Zoe to cause enemies to drop spell shards. This allows her to shoot missiles at local enemies as new spells are cast. This comes as each shard produces one cast of a particular spell or other active item.
- The Sleepy Trouble Bubble produces magic damage as the ball explodes and causes the enemy to sleep. Extra damage is then taken by the enemy from the next attack after that person wakes up. The ball can be a trap if it hits nothing but the cooldown will be reduced if it hits someone as it is cast.
- Portal Jump is her ultimate. This lets Zoe teleport to a certain spot and then back to her original location. While she can use her various attacks and abilities in that teleported spot, she will not be able to move from that location.
The More Sparkles! passive ability is also important as it works after every spell Zoe casts. The next basic attack produced after a spell is cast will cause extra magic damage.
Paddle Star is the only power that damages people although Spell Thief and More Sparkles! help to keep the damage up by a bit. The Sleepy Trouble Bubble is a defensive material that could work alongside other team members depending on what is used.
The Paddle Star is made to be a regular damage tool that works as a main threat. This is a little different from other mages. Most mages in League of Legends will cause damage by using consistent spells that directly harm enemies or cause regular damage over time. Zoe appears to use more attacks than mages although her attacks can work with magic functions as they allow extra magic damage to occur depending on how well these are landed.
Zoe is expected to be released at some point in November and be made available for esports competitions. She is also expected to come with various additional skins and other features although she does has one skin available from the start.
